It is another device dedicated to Quick messaging Needs. here we collect the tips & tricks for using the samsung realtiy ( sch-u820). Wish you like it.

Tip #1: Organizing and Customizing the Samsung Realtiy Home Screens

The look of the Samsung Reality can be customized to a user’s preference by changing the fonts and the wallpaper, and by adding a personal banner, which appears on the Lock screen or the Home screens. These options can be accessed by going to Menu > Settings & Tools > Display Settings or the Personal Banner Widget.

For further customization and functionality, users can organize their favorite widgets on each of the three Home screens. To move widgets between the bar and place them on one of the Home screens, simply drag the widgets to the desired location.

Tip #2: Using the Event Status Bar on samsung Reality

On the Home screens, an Event Status Bar appears above the bottom menu bar to alert users to Master Volume Modes, a change in status – such as a new message, new voicemail, speakerphone activation, or a missed call – or an upcoming calendar event. Current alerts can also be reviewed by opening the Event Status Bar. Please note that this bar is not visible when the volume is within normal range and there are no current or upcoming alerts.

Tip #3: Organizing Widgets on Samsung Reality

Customers aren’t limited to using a particular widget on only one Home screen. When a widget is dragged from the Widget Bar to one of the Home screens, a copy of the Widget icon remains on the Widget Bar, so that the same widget can be dragged onto all three screens, if desired.

Tip #4: Quickly Find Files, Info, and Messages Samsung Reality

The Device Search Widget, located in the Widget Bar, acts as a speedy locator for all kinds of info stored on the phone. Users can enter up to 12 characters in the search box, and select all or select contacts, recent calls, calendar, message, music, image, video, or menu to narrow the search.

The Device Search Widget only searches for files stored in the phone’s memory.

Tip #5: Samsung Reality Features of VZ Navigator

Besides audible turn-by-turn directions with automatic re-routing, VZ Navigator offers several other useful functions to keep subscribers on track:
Gas Finder locates nearby gas stations and helps pinpoint the lowest prices.
When using 411 Search, the resulting address is sent directly to VZ Navigator for mapping and directions.
Find nearby restaurants, retail, and other businesses with Local Search, find showtimes with Movies & Entertainment, and know what to wear with local weather forecasts.
On major highways, users can turn to Traffic Integration to learn about delays and accidents along the route.
English-language voice recognition allows customers to enter destination addresses and point-of-interest searches without typing.
Plan from home on the VZ Navigator website and sync stored locations with the phone.

Tip #6: Switching Between Landscape and Portrait Screen Views Samsung Reality

The Samsung Reality’s accelerometer detects movement and tilting of the phone and changes in the phone’s orientation – and adjusts to these changes by automatically rotating the screen between portrait and landscape view. This ability increases functionality in messaging, picture viewing, and web applications.

Tip #7: Using Standard Headphones with the Samsung Reality for Music and Videos

No need to worry about being restricted to a proprietary headset – with the 3.5mm headphone jack on the Samsung Reality, users can plug in any standard headphones or earbuds to listen to music and videos. The ability to use headphones offers the privacy and excellent sound users expect.

Tip #8: Turning Photos into Dynamic and Animated Art Samsung Reality

Users can add text and motion to photos with the camera’s Dynamic Canvas feature. Go to Menu > Media Center > Picture & Video > My Pictures and select a photo to edit. Underneath the photo, select the Pen icon to launch Dynamic Canvas. Use the pen, circle, rectangle, text, and stamp tools to embellish the photo, and use the Motion command to animate the embellishments. The new file can be sent to contacts or uploaded to an online album or community.

Tip #9: Samsung Reality Uploading Videos to Communities

Once a user has created a video, either with the camcorder or by animating a still image, it can be uploaded to Photobucket or YouTube.

Camcorder videos are stored in Menu > Media Center > Picture & Video > My Videos, while animated photos can be found in the My Pictures folder. Select the desired video, then select Options > Upload via Communities. Touch , add an optional title, note, tags, or reservation time, and select Upload.

Tip #10: Samsung Reality Upload Photos to a Blog

Users can send a saved picture directly to a blog with picture messaging. Go to Message > New Message > Picture Message. From the buttons at the top of the screen, select Blogs. Choose a recipient from the list, or enter a new blog by selecting New at the bottom of the screen, and entering the blog’s name and address. Attach a picture by touching the Picture block and selecting a photo from My Pictures. Enter text in the Text block, if desired. Select Send to send the message.

Tip #11: Samsung Reality Using Voice Commands

Quickly dial a number, send a text, navigate to a menu, play a song, and much more using Voice Commands. To initiate a Voice Command, press the Voice button on the right side of the phone. Follow the voice prompts and on-screen menu for help in speaking your choice. For a more discreet option, users can change the voice prompts to Tones Only. A user who needs more assistance can select Readout, which reads the screen text aloud. Other customizable options include speaker sensitivity, choice confirmation, and speakerphone/earpiece playback.

Tip #12: Samsung Reality Proximity Sensor

The phone’s proximity sensor prevents users from accidentally interacting with the screen while talking on the phone. The display automatically switches off when the user begins to talk on the phone, and switches back on once the user pulls the phone away from their face.
