Tip #1: Zooming

Users can zoom in and out of photos, websites, and file viewer by using the voice command key and the speaker key on the middle right-hand side of the phone.

Tip #2: Scrolling

To scroll, press and slide the finger up or down the screen.

Tip #3: Using the Rogue Power Search Function

When the screen displays the Contacts list, the user can enable the Power Search tab to quickly “thumb through” the alphabetical listing of entries by the first letter. The Power Search tab is located on the left side of the screen, and looks like a folder tab.

Tip #4: Undocking samsung Rogue Widgets

Tap the Widget Bar tab to open. To undock a widget, touch and hold it; then, in a single motion, drag it into the main display and release. Touching a widget on the Widget Bar will open it.

Tip #5: Access Internet -samsung rogue

Users can place a call while using the browser if the website supports this feature. Touch the appropriate link to call the number. The internet connection terminates when the call is initiated. When the call is ended, the Resume Browser screen appears. To exit the Browser, press the Home key.

Tip #7: Samsung Rogue Locking and Unlocking the Phone

Since the Rogue™ is a touchscreen phone, the phone locks when specific functions are in use to prevent accidental dialing. For convenience, the lock/unlock key is located on the upper right-hand side of the phone. Simply press to lock or unlock. Although it is recommended that the phone be kept in the auto lock mode, users may turn this feature off by selecting Menu > Settings & Tools > Touch Settings > Auto Lock > Off.

To make setting preferences easier, the Rogue™ has a Set-Up Wizard that enables users to customize preferences in minutes, all in one place. Touch Menu > Settings and Tools > Set-Up Wizard. The phone will guide the user through the selection process.

Users can activate or deactivate a moving wipe transition effect between menu or option pages. From the Main screen, touch Menu > Settings & Tools > Display Settings > Transition Effect. Touch On or Off.

Tip #10: Motion Detection

Motion Detection enables users to set the phone to respond to their actions. When this feature is set to On, the user can temporarily mute the ringer by flipping the phone face down during incoming calls, and can also snooze a ringing alarm by flipping the phone face down.

From the Main screen, touch Menu > Settings & Tools > Phone Settings > Motion Detection. Touch On or Off.

Tip #11: Switching to Message View by Contact

If the user is in the Message Inbox and wants to view messages grouped by Contact rather than time received, touch the Sort soft key to sort by name or message size.

Tip #12: Activating Visual Voice Mail on samsung rogue

Visual Voice Mail enables users to see a list of their voicemails, so they can choose to listen to them in priority order, instead of in the order in which they arrived. To activate Visual Voice Mail from the Main screen: Touch Message > Visual Voice Mail, and follow the prompts.

Tip #13: Entering Symbols Using the QWERTY Keyboard

When composing a message in landscape mode, press the Fn key to access the symbols on the keyboard. The symbols are shown in orange on the upper half of some of the keys.

Users can geotag photos – in other words, mark each with the actual location. To use this feature, the phone’s location has to be set to On. Geotagging is turned on in the camera settings. Go to Camera Settings > Settings Tab > GPS Connection > On.

11/5: Verizon announces the Droid Eris by HTC–an Android phone that which includes native pinch-and-zoom in its native Web browser and picture viewer. The fact that Verizon Wireless offers an Android device with native applications that support pinch-and-zoom seems to contradict what Motorola’s statement inferred.
